Penne with Creamy Basil-Garlic Sauce

Ingredients:
12 oz penne pasta
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
1 tsp lemon zest
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Directions:
Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Add the Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Toss the cooked penne into the skillet with the sauce and mix until the pasta is well coated.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves and more Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve warm!
