Ingredients:
1 wheel of brie cheese (8 oz)
1 large apple, sliced
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup maple syrup
Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)
Crackers or baguette slices for serving
Directions:
Caramelize the apples: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 5 minutes until the apples are tender and caramelized. Set aside.
Prepare the brie: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the brie wheel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is softened and gooey.
Top with pecans and syrup: In the same skillet, toast the pecans for 2-3 minutes, then drizzle the maple syrup over them. Stir until coated and slightly caramelized.
Assemble and serve: Remove the brie from the oven and top with the caramelized apples and maple pecans. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
