Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:
8 large biscuits (store-bought or homemade)
1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Salt to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish

Directions:
Cook the sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and brown the sausage until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
Make the roux: Sprinkle flour over the sausage, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until the flour is absorbed.
Add milk: Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer, allowing the gravy to thicken, stirring occasionally.
Season: Stir in black pepper, garlic powder, and salt to taste. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until desired thickness is reached.
Assemble: Split the warm biscuits in half and spoon the sausage gravy generously over them.
Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh parsley for an extra touch of flavor.
