
Ingredients:
2 slices of sourdough or your favorite bread
2 tbsp butter, softened
1 small apple, thinly sliced
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced or shredded
1 tsp honey (optional)
A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Directions:
Butter the bread: Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Assemble the sandwich: Place a layer of cheddar cheese on the unbuttered side of one slice. Add thinly sliced apples on top. If using, drizzle honey and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the apples for extra flavor. Add another layer of cheddar cheese, then top with the second slice of bread (buttered side facing out).
Cook the sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serve: Remove from heat, slice in half, and enjoy the sweet and savory combination of melted cheddar and crisp apples.
