Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Extra chocolate chips for topping
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Press half of the cookie dough into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Pour the caramel sauce over the cookie dough layer, spreading it out.
Drop the remaining cookie dough in spoonfuls over the caramel layer, then gently press to spread it out as evenly as possible.
Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center. Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
