One-Skillet Creamy Honey BBQ Steak Rice

Ingredients:
1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup uncooked white rice
2 cups beef broth
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
⅓ cup honey BBQ sauce
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions:
Sear the Steak:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the steak bites with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Sear the steak pieces for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Aromatics:
Reduce the heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet.
Sauté the chopped onion for 2 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

Cook the Rice:
Add the uncooked rice to the skillet and stir to coat in the butter and aromatics.
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for 15-18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender.

Make It Creamy:
Stir in the heavy cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and honey BBQ sauce.
Mix until everything is creamy and well combined.

Add the Steak Back In:
Return the seared steak bites to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Let everything warm through for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle with sliced green onions and an extra drizzle of honey BBQ sauce if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy!
