
Ingredients:
8 slices rye bread
1 lb pastrami, thinly sliced
8 slices Swiss cheese
1/2 cup sauerkraut, drained
1/4 cup Russian dressing or thousand island dressing
2 tbsp butter, softened
Directions:
Prepare the bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
Assemble the sandwich: On the unbuttered side of four slices, spread Russian dressing evenly. Layer with pastrami, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
Cook the sandwich: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet, cooking until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Serve: Slice each sandwich in half and enjoy warm.
