Pizza Bowl: A Low-Carb Twist on a Classic Favorite

Ingredients:
1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
1 small onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:
Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and cook for another minute.
Add Marinara: Pour in the marinara sauce and stir to combine. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Assemble the Bowls: Preheat your oven’s broiler. Divide the sausage and vegetable mixture evenly among 4 oven-safe bowls. Top each with shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
Broil: Place the bowls under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
