Two-Chocolate Mousse with Orange and Saffron – A Luxurious Dessert Experience

Ingredients:
For the Dark Chocolate Mousse:
3.5 oz (100g) dark chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
For the White Chocolate Mousse:
3.5 oz (100g) white chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
For the Orange and Saffron Syrup:
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp granulated sugar
Pinch of saffron threads

Directions:
Prepare the Dark Chocolate Mousse:
Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
In another bowl, whisk the egg yolk with the sugar until light and fluffy.
Gradually fold the melted chocolate into the egg yolk mixture. Then gently fold in the whipped cream until fully combined.
Divide the mousse evenly into serving glasses and refrigerate.
Prepare the White Chocolate Mousse:
Repeat the same steps as for the dark chocolate mousse, using white chocolate instead.
Once prepared, layer the white chocolate mousse over the dark chocolate mousse in the serving glasses. Refrigerate again.
Make the Orange and Saffron Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, orange zest, water, sugar, and saffron threads. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the mixture thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and let cool.
Serve:
Drizzle the cooled orange and saffron syrup over the chilled mousse before serving. Garnish with additional orange zest or chocolate shavings if desired.
