Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is soft. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain any excess fat.
Mix the sauce: Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk until well combined. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture is heated through.
Assemble the casserole: Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Add tater tots: Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy. During the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
