Pizza Hut-Inspired Homemade Dough

Ingredients

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 1/4 cups warm water (110°F)

2 tablespoons sugar

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, cheese, etc.)

Directions

Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.

Mix the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until the dough starts to form.

Knead the dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shape the dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two balls for medium pizzas or one ball for a large pizza. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.

Prepare the crust: Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Place the rolled dough on a greased pizza pan or baking sheet. Brush the edges with melted butter.

Add toppings and bake: Top your pizza with sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Serve: Slice and enjoy your delicious homemade pizza with a thick, soft crust, just like Pizza Hut!
