Fried Chicken

Ingredients:
4 chicken thighs and drumsticks
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil (for frying)

Directions:
I. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
II. In a large bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
III. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
IV. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
V. Fry the chicken in batches for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:

2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:
I. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
II. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
III. Add the butter and milk, mashing until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
IV. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Baked Beans
Ingredients:

2 cans baked beans
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

Directions:
I. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
II. In a large bowl, mix baked beans, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and smoked paprika.
III. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and hot.

Cole Slaw
Ingredients:

4 cups shredded cabbage
1 large carrot, shredded
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
I. In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
II. Add shredded cabbage and carrot, tossing to coat evenly.
III. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
