
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
1 cup sour cream
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons butter, melted
½ cup bacon bits (optional)
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Directions :
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet, cook the ground beef with diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
Spread the cooked beef evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with sour cream and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
Spread the mashed potato mixture over the cooked beef layer in the casserole dish.
Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and bacon bits (if using).
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
