Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup marinara sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups cooked macaroni
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet, cook the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, then set aside.
In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to create a roux and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Add shredded cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and creamy.
Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well coated.
In a greased baking dish, spread the beef mixture evenly on the bottom.
Top with the macaroni and cheese layer.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the casserole is bubbly and golden brown on top.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
