Crispy Onion Rings

Ingredients:
2 large onions, sliced into 1/2-inch rings
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
Vegetable oil for frying
Optional: your favorite dipping sauce (e.g., spicy mayo, ketchup)

Directions:
Prepare the onions: Slice the onions into rings and separate them carefully. Set aside.
Make the batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the egg and milk, and whisk until smooth.
Coat the rings: Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Then coat each ring in breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
Fry the onion rings: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the onion rings in batches, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve: Serve the crispy onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
