Ingredients:
6 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 lb ground beef
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
Make the mashed potatoes:
Boil potatoes in a large pot of salted water for 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper, and mash until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
Cook the ground beef:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Once fully cooked, drain excess fat.
Make the gravy:
Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir until the flour is absorbed. Gradually add beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens.
Assemble the dish:
Spoon the creamy mashed potatoes onto plates and generously top with the beef gravy.
Garnish:
Sprinkle with fresh parsley for a touch of color and flavor.
