Classic Gravy Recipe

Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups beef or chicken stock (depending on your meal)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: fresh thyme for garnish

Directions:
Make a roux: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk continuously for 2-3 minutes, until the mixture turns a light golden brown.
Add stock: Slowly whisk in the stock, continuing to whisk to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Season: Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve: Once the gravy reaches your desired consistency, remove from heat and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
