
Ingredients:
4 large sweet onions, peeled and sliced into thick rings
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp dried thyme (or fresh thyme for garnish)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare onions: Place the onion slices in a greased baking dish, arranging them in a single layer.
Make the cheese mixture: In a bowl, mix together the mozzarella, Parmesan, and mayonnaise. Spread the cheese mixture over the top of the onions.
Drizzle with butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the cheese-topped onions. Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper.
Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serve: Garnish with fresh thyme if desired and serve warm.
