One-Pot Bowtie Pasta with Sausage and Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup tomato sauce

2 cups uncooked bowtie pasta

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup heavy cream (optional for a creamy texture)

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Directions

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.

Add the diced onion and garlic. Sauté until the onions are soft and fragrant.

Pour in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, tomato sauce, and bowtie pasta. Season with salt and pepper. Stir well.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.

If desired, stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Garnish with chopped parsley and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve hot.
