Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon mustard
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 can (16 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Prepare the Beef Mixture
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are soft. Drain any excess fat.
Make the Sloppy Joe Sauce
Add the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and water to the skillet. Stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
Assemble the Casserole
Pour the beef mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Separate the biscuit dough and arrange the biscuits on top of the beef mixture, leaving space between each one.
Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
Bake
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and fully cooked.
Serve
Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.
