Black Forest Cloud Cake

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup cherry pie filling
1 1/2 cups whipped cream
1/4 cup chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Fresh cherries (for garnish)

Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with the milk and sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
Assemble the Cake: Once cooled, spread the cherry pie filling over the top of the cake. Then, layer the whipped cream over the cherries.
Garnish: Sprinkle the cake with chocolate shavings and garnish with fresh cherries.
