Ingredients:
1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil, for frying
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 red chili, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Beef:
In a bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge the thinly sliced sirloin steak in the mixture, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
Fry the Beef:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the coated beef in batches until crispy and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Cook the Veggies:
In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened. Add the chopped red chili and minced garlic, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sweet chili sauce, brown sugar, and tomato paste. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the peppers, stirring to combine and heat through.
Combine Beef and Sauce:
Return the crispy beef to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until everything is well-mixed and heated.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
