
Ingredients:
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, drained
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
Directions:
I. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
II. Spread the undrained crushed pineapple evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Add the drained pineapple chunks on top, spreading them out evenly.
III. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple layer, covering it completely.
IV. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover as much of the dry mix as possible.
V. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top, followed by the chopped pecans or walnuts if using.
VI. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
VII. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
